Swimming with the Sharps: NFL Over/Unders for the Conference Championship Games
Hey you, yeah you with all the disposable income. You know what stimulates the economy? Casual sports gambling! But we’re not throwing you in the deep end without some floaties, here. The Triangle has contracted one of Vegas’ most astute handicappers to help you navigate these choppy waters. Here’s what Erin Rynning had to say.
Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots — UNDER 50.5
The smallest of opinions on the AFC championship game under the total. Yes, the Patriots offense seems impossible to stop, but one must remember New England’s games against quality defenses like the Steelers and Giants earlier this season. The Ravens defense can certainly create some resistance for quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots. The key will be creating pressure on Brady and knocking him around a bit.
New York Giants at San Francisco 49ERS — OVER 42
There’s been a lot of talk about a potentially soggy field for this matchup on Sunday. Keep in mind, poor conditions on the field can neutralize a pass rush in a hurry, which would be a massive factor in this contest. Both the Giants and 49ers can create tremendous pressure with their defensive lines, but a slow start could give Eli Manning and Alex Smith extra time. In addition, much was made of the red zone issues for the 49ers going in to last week’s game. In the end it was a non-issue, and the San Francisco coaching staff will have the right plays in mind again this week.
