The Red-Band, Slightly NSFW ‘Hot Tub Time Machine 2’ Trailer Is Fantastic
Hot Tub Time Machine was funnier than it had any right to be, and it still is. Nonetheless: Do we need a Hot Tub Time Machine 2? If we’re looking to this mildly NSFW trailer (topless woman, funny curse-wordy language), the answer’s a gigantic YES. More improv-y Apatovian pop culture name-checks, more killer chemistry, and more standard-issue designer dick jokes.
Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke are all back, along with original director (and High Fidelity screenwriter) Steve Pink and hot-tub handyman Chevy Chase. Instead of redoing an era-specific visit (the original was all ’80s everything), they’re going, Back to the Future 2–style, to … the future. And they’re hanging out with Adam Scott! (Community’s Gillian Jacobs also has a part, although she doesn’t show up here.) I’m actually suddenly disappointed we have to wait until Christmas for this. Mission accomplished, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 trailer.
