The man’s life was interesting enough for his biopic to simultaneously look like a sports movie, a period drama, a fighter pilot movie, an ocean survival movie, AND a WWII POW movie. Jack O’Connell stars as Zamperini, the Coen Brothers cowrote the script, and their longtime cinematographer (and 11-time Oscar nominee) Roger Deakins worked with Jolie. Zamperini actually just died last week at the age of 97 — rest in peace, sir.
