FXX’s ‘The Simpsons’ Marathon Is a Huge Success (With a Bad Visual Problem)

FX’s comedy offshoot, FXX, is hosting #everysimpsonsever, a 12-day, 552-episode marathon that’s exactly as cool as it sounds. And people are watching! More than 1 million of them tuned in on Thursday, which is three times more people than FXX usually has watching, and which was the network’s biggest day ever. So, congrats, FXX. Now stop cropping, zooming, and stretching the episodes and ruining so many sight gags, pleeeease.
The Hateful Eight teaser is totally worth watching in bootleg form. It’s beautiful, Django-y and Kill Bill–ish at once, and we are so lucky he’s actually making this film after all.

Who are Louis C.K., Sarah Silverman, Hannibal Buress, Amy Schumer, and Aziz Ansari all watching from side stage? Dave Chappelle, of course. He showed up at the Oddball Comedy & Curiosity festival in Hartford (yes, that Hartford) on Saturday. (Also, Dave’s set is online.)
Lil’ Nicki Minaj wanted to be a nurse as a kid.
She did all right for herself, though.
Meanwhile, this is Iggy Azalea falling off (stage) during a performance of “Fancy.”
Prince is releasing two albums on September 30. The long-awaited Plectrumelectrum will be Prince and 3rdEyeGirl, while Art Official Age is a solo album.
Also on the two-albums/one-day front: Eminem will drop SHADYXV, a double album featuring a greatest-hits disc and a collection of new material/collabos, on Black Friday, November 28. And here’s his new track with Sia.
Impressively accurate anatomy of genre films — A+, do not miss.
Steve Zahn is moving in next to the Dunphys on Modern Family.
Rest in peace, Richard Attenborough, age 90. You were no small part of Jurassic Park’s magic, sir.
Another Better Call Saul teaser, this one with Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.
The New Yorker has an excerpt from Lena Dunham’s memoir, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s “Learned.”
Dancing Groot toy exists.
And Blue Ivy knows the “Flawless” dance and can make her dad get all proud-dad goofy. [via]
