Steven “No More Movies” Soderbergh is really earning that middle name. He’s got The Knick, which looks awesome, coming to Cinemax in August, and now he’s in bed with Starz, too. The new project is an adaptation of Soderbergh’s 2009 film The Girlfriend Experience, and Soderbergh will play executive producer. The anthology series will play out in 13 half-hour installments exploring “the relationships of the most exclusive courtesans who provide their clients with far more than just sex.” Soderbergh says in Starz’s statement, “We’re in an exciting period of auteur-driven television right now. When Philip [Fleishman] floated the idea of a Girlfriend Experience–inspired television show, I thought: ‘Let’s make it a different woman in a different city, let’s pair two independent writer-directors, one male and one female, and let them do the whole thing.'” That duo will be Lodge Kerrigan (The Killing, The Red Road) and Amy Seimetz (Sun Don’t Shine).

“I told Doug [Ellin, writer/director of the Entourage movie], ‘Let’s not wait for the movie to come out to start planning the next one because this is definitely going to be a big success.’ If I have anything to do with it there will be [a next one].” —Mark Wahlberg

Aaron Sorkin is adapting Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt, which “deals with the practice of high-frequency trading on Wall Street and how it became a way to rig the system.” Finally, a fucking Wall Street movie.

Mariah’s not the only one getting in the celebeverage game. Jay Z’s in, too, ARNOLD PALMER–STYLE. Refreshing beverage where dreams are made of.

Also Mariah-related: Stellar artwork by Mimi’s team, lol.

North West’s first birthday? Kidchella. Also: Kanye showed up at Chappelle’s show at Radio City on Friday and closed out the evening. Also also: community service for Yeezy = hanging at a fashion school.

Gordon Ramsay’s done with Kitchen Nightmares.

AMC’s bringing back Turn for a second season.

Sting’s stingy re: riches + children: “I certainly don’t want to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks. They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.”

And Nathan Fielder has been sneakily reflecting porn through his Instagram photos for some time now.
