Judd Apatow Will Produce a Lonely Island Movie

It’s been an incredible week for Internet-inspired movies. First Worldstar Hip Hop got one, and now it’s the Lonely Island’s turn. (Don’t even start with me about the Lonely Island’s [certainly legit] SNL credentials — the group, and its one billion–plus YouTube views, sweats and bleeds pure Internet.) The film will be produced by Judd Apatow, who is making movies with Amy Schumer and the Key & Peele guys, too, and is also still killing it all the time, basically.
The Lonely Island is Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Justin Timberlake Jorma Taccone. They’ve released three studio albums. The movie doesn’t have a title yet, and there’s no real information beyond “happening at Universal Pictures.” Whether it ends up being a biopic, a three-hour compendium of new digital shorts, or a big-screen version of “Jizz in My Pants,” I really hope Kendrick Lamar gets a part as a graying accountant wearing a clear green visor …
… and Michael Bolton gets to show up to as Captain Jack Sparrow, just belting out the word “Tortuga” …
… and T-Pain has to take to the seven seas. There is no Lonely Island movie without T-Pain on a motherlovin’ BOAT.
