Hollywood Prospectus Podcast: Captain Phillips, Homeland, and Fox’s Tuesday Night Comedies
This week’s pod comes to you from a room with a view (of Caracas). Andy and I start things off talking about haircuts, Captain Phillips, Tom Hanks’s particular brand of movie stardom, and whether Paul Greengrass’s movie is as much a technical achievement, in its own way, as Gravity.
We move on to Sunday night television, where things are looking up for two shows that have recently fallen on hard times. We praise the Homicide: Life on the Street reunion that was this past episode of Homeland and talk about the baby (zombie) steps being made by The Walking Dead.
We wrap things up with a look at Fox’s Tuesday night comedy slate, and discuss whether the people responsible for making us laugh are just too damn nice (to one another).
