Buzz Bissinger, Shopaholic, Is in Rehab

Prepare your incredulous Leo squint: Friday Night Lights author Buzz Bissinger, who this week detailed his half-a-million dollar shopping addiction in an unbelievable GQ essay, has entered rehab. It’s unclear what the facility is, or how long he will be there, or what kind of treatment he will receive: Most reports just identify it as an “undisclosed rehab center.” But whatever else you might think of Bissinger’s confessional, clearly, if he believes he needs help, it’s great that he’s seeking it out. Tellingly, Bissinger released a statement to NBC after the piece was published, saying “I wrote [the essay] because it was the only way I knew of coming to terms and getting the help I am now getting. I have no regrets about what I wrote but I also have nothing to add. The story speaks for itself.”
