Afternoon Links: Tarantino’s Doing Another Western
Quentin Tarantino visited Jay Leno on Tuesday night and had a subtle announcement to share: He’s not making a Django Unchained sequel, but he is doing another Western next. “The thing is, I had so much fun doing Django and I love Westerns so much that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like, ‘Well, OK, now let me make another one now I know what I’m doing.'” He also called Leno “mate” a couple times, though, so maybe this is all cover for QT’s big Australia movie.

The cinema simulcast of Doctor Who’s 50th-anniversary special made $10.2 million at the box office worldwide, including $4.8 million in the U.S. The Day of the Doctor also racked up 5 million Tumblr posts, making it “bigger than the VMAs, the Super Bowl, and the Grammys.”

THR snuck this by everyone earlier this week: Judd Apatow’s next feature will star Amy Schumer “as a basket case who tries to rebuild her life, but still to be found are her boyfriend, a best friend/co-worker and a parent.” It’s called Train Wreck; Schumer wrote the script. This’ll be Apatow’s first directorial effort where he didn’t also handle the screenplay.
Anchorman 2’s release was bumped up two days. See you December 18.
