Jonah Keri Podcast: With Special Guests Alex Anthopoulos and Grant Brisbee

The Jonah Keri Podcast is back! Throughout the season, we’ll have fun/smart guests on to talk baseball and occasionally quote random Simpsons lines or tout hole-in-the-wall diners in Topeka and Esterhazy.

In our 2014 season premiere, Keri starts the show by chatting with Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos. Can the last-place Jays club of 2013 rally and become playoff contenders this year? We then spend a few minutes grilling Anthopoulos (a Montreal native who grew up a die-hard Expos fan) about the possibility of baseball one day returning to Montreal.

Then, SB Nation and McCovey Chronicles writer Grant Brisbee (@mccoveychron) hops on to discuss the state of the San Francisco Giants. Will the Giants make another deep playoff run, if only because it’s an odd-numbered year? Can other cities learn any lessons from Giants ownership building their own ballpark? And how does Brisbee see the rest of the NL playoff race breaking down this year?
