Watch a Child Actor Grow Up in Richard Linklater’s ‘Boyhood’ Trailer
Here’s the trailer for Richard Linklater’s Boyhood, an innovative project he shot over the course of 12 years, employing the same young actor from the ages of 6 to 18. (It also employed the same Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette over that span, but that’s somehow less impressive a trick.) It looks excellent.
And here is a trailer for Wolfcop, which presumably also employed the same actors over its entire shooting schedule. It also looks excellent, but mostly because there’s a cop who becomes a wolf. To the best of our knowledge, the kid in Boyhood becomes neither cop nor wolf.
Orphan Black doubles its ratings when you start counting the DVR viewers, which you should, especially if that keeps Orphan Black on the air for five or six more seasons.
Mariah Carey is dropping a surprise album. Wait, is it still a surprise album if she’s telling us about it?
“There were Little Debbies everywhere!” This might be the most delicious accident of all time.
HBO is pushing the premiere of Damon Lindelof’s The Leftovers by a couple of weeks, from June 15 to June 29. Uh-oh? Hopefully not uh-oh. Hopefully just taking some extra time to get it right.
Six minutes of Star Wars stuff. If you care, you don’t need more than those six words to sell you.
And also: The upcoming Star Wars films will draw upon the canon of the previous movies, plus The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. Not the other stuff in the Expanded Universe.
Get ready for Brett Ratner’s Puig. (We are in no way ready for this. Can we make it stop before it happens?)
