Just Because They’ve Barely Shot Any of the Hunger Games Movie Doesn’t Mean It Can’t Have a Teaser
If you’d not been aware that The Hunger Games — the upcoming adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling YA trilogy — is a very big deal, last night’s MTV VMAs certainly made the point. Sandwiched between the usual assortment of things that were actually weird and/or exciting (the Jay-Bey baby!) and things trying very hard to seem weird and/or exciting (Dude Gaga) was The world! Premiere! Of The Hunger Games teaser! Nevermind that it was a skimpy clip with barely any footage. What did we actually see? Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence), the dystopian trilogy’s hero — a teen girl fighting for her life in a super messed-up Battle Royale-type situation — running through the woods and shooting an arrow at nothing in particular. Cool fireballs, though.
