At the end of this Daily Show segment about Rupert Murdoch trying to buy Time Warner for $80 billion, Jon Stewart proposes a more practical idea: a Kickstarter campaign (“campaign” is a little serious for Kickstarter sometimes, no? how about “a Kickstarter thingy”?) to buy CNN for a reasonable $10 billion. Unfortunately this idea exists nowhere on the actual Kickstarter website, but letsbuycnn.com looks solid enough. For a measly $25,000, you’ll be popping Molly with Fareed Zakaria!
If you’ve been punishing yourself by not getting into Nathan for You yet, you need to stop that self-destructive behavior this instant and watch this bit about creating a loophole for a liquor store to sell booze to minors.
Check out this sneaky Better Call Saul billboard situation.
Whoa whoa whoa, missed this: A Shining prequel called Overlook Hotel may actually happen — Warner Bros. is in talks with director Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo, Never Let Me Go).
Late Show will stay at the Ed Sullivan Theater when Stephen Colbert takes over.
Portia de Rossi will be on Scandal next season.
Pharrell’s awesome “Come Get It Bae” has a video. Like the song, it features Miley Cyrus.
The Sinister Six is coming in 2016, while The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has been pushed to 2018. Also on the scheduling front: Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is now set for 2017.
Of course Coolio is going to release some new music through Pornhub.com. (Link does not go to Pornhub.com. Sorry. You can type it in yourself if you want to.)
That was quick: Three months after breaking off an engagement to Big Sean, Glee‘s Naya Rivera is married to actor Ryan Dorsey. At least Sean will always have the house up on that asstate.
Anthony Hopkins is doing HBO’s Westworld.
Coming to Conan on Monday: Orange Is the New Black‘s Taylor Schilling, Laverne Cox, Uzo Aduba, Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne, and Jason Biggs.
And here’s what it looks like when Robin Thicke applies his prodigious talents to film acting.
