House of Cards Season 2 Trailer: Ready for Kevin Spacey’s Vice-Presidency?
Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood raising his hand and swearing to God inspires a hell of a lot more fear than faith. This is the man, after all, who perpetually breaks the fourth wall to spit venom re: D.C. and all America’s governmental frivolity, violent promises never far behind. And after teasers both flashy and silent, House of Cards’ official trailer for the second season finally doubles down on Frank’s threats, using every instant to foreshadow the next phase of his bloodthirsty ascent toward leadership of the free world. The occasional murder scheme is one thing, but dreams of revenge, butchery, and obliteration are about to take Frank to a whole ’nother level.
All 13 episodes of Season 2 are set to drop on Netflix on Friday, February 14, either ruining your Valentine’s Day or perfecting it. David Fincher isn’t back as a director, although he’s still on board as executive producer. Meanwhile, Season 1 received commentary tracks for every episode over the weekend, so you’ve got something to lean on if this trailer has you all woozy.
