‘Fargo’ Is Getting a Second Season, and ‘Louie’ Will Be Back in the Spring

Just to make us all extremely happy, FX renewed both Fargo and Louie today. Fargo — returning no earlier than fall 2015 — will have a new cast, new story, and once again clock in at 10 episodes. Noah Hawley, who wrote the entire first season, will stick around as showrunner. Meanwhile, Louie’s fifth season will only be seven episodes (suuucks), but we won’t have to wait nine eternities this time — C.K.’s coming back in the spring. On the much-sadder-than-only-seven-Louies side of things, FX’s Charlie Kaufman–written/directed/executive produced How and Why — which featured John Hawkes, Michael Cera, Sally Hawkins, and Catherine Keener in the pilot — isn’t getting picked up.
