‘Rock the Kasbah’ Will Star Bill Murray, Zooey Deschanel, and the Newly Unretired Shia LaBeouf
Directed by Barry Levinson, the film will star Murray as “a burned-out music manager who goes to Afghanistan on the USO tour with his last remaining client.” Then he winds up on a path toward ‘Afghan Star,’ a reality show in the vein of American Idol. Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, and Danny McBride will also appear.

David O. Russell Has Found His Next Jennifer Lawrence Project
For his follow-up to American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, Russell is negotiating to rewrite and direct a film about Joy Mangano, “a struggling Long Island single mom of three who became one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs with her self-wringing Miracle Mop invention.” J-Law would play the role, and J-Law would get her fourth Oscar nomination, at something like age 24 or 25.

NBC Will Move the Emmys to a Monday in August (and It Canceled ‘Sean Saves the World’)
“NBC had no comment on the shift, but both the Oscars and the Golden Globes used to air on Monday nights before moving to Sunday, a night that has become synonymous with big events,” says Variety. Now we just have to wait and see if a long working Monday diminishes the quality of awards show tweets versus the customary 140-character zingers folks store up over lazy weekends building to Sunday night telecasts.
