Grantland Network Podcast: Men in Blazers

The football world is buzzing after a most peculiar week. First, 10-man Manchester City valiantly fell to crosstown Manchester United, in a loss that felt like a win. Then, retirees across England appeared to have ditched their walkers, forgone the Early Bird Specials, and sprung back to life as saviors of Clubs in Crisis. To top it all, a velvet-blazered leprechaun accepted FIFA’s Ballon d’Or as the world’s player of the year. Interesting indeed.

But fear not. Michael Davies and Roger Bennett return to make sense of these “developments most strange,” reveling in the peculiar brilliance of the FA Cup. Plus, the Men in Blazers are joined by particularly fashion-forward ESPN analyst and ex-Liverpool legend Steve McManaman to discuss how the league has changed since his retirement. The main difference: far more red cards. Also, better hair products.
