They say you wait your whole life to make your first album, then you have nine months to follow it up. In hip-hop, first albums are one part autobiography and one part mission statement. Sophomore albums tend to be a little more complicated. There are all kinds of second rap albums: commercial failures, bloated bombs, cult classics, underrated masterpieces.
