NFL Week 10 Over/Unders from the Sharps

Jim Brown/US Presswire Andy Dalton

Hey you, yeah you with all the disposable income. You know what stimulates the economy? Casual sports gambling! But we’re not throwing you in the deep end without some floaties, here. The Triangle has contracted two of Vegas’ most astute handicappers to help you navigate the choppy waters of gambling, going into this tenth weekend of the NFL season. Here’s what they had to say.

Are you ready for some football gambling?

From Erin Rynning:

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals — UNDER 41.5
This will be an interesting test for the Bengals’ young quarterback, Andy Dalton. Of course, he’ll be matched up against the tricky zone blitz schemes of the Steelers, and expect some struggles. Meanwhile, this Bengals defense just continues to get the job done, but also show improvement as well.

Baltimore Ravens at Seattle Seahawks — OVER 41
We’ll bet on Joe Flacco to continue to produce in this trip to Seattle. This Seahawks offense is certainly better than advertised with Sidney Rice a real weapon, the run game perking up last week, now they need to get Zach Miller into the fold at home. Both teams could very well run some no-huddle in this contest.

New England Patriots at New York Jets — UNDER 47.5
Ground and pound! We’ll ride it again this week. Of course, the Jets are doing their best to transform themselves into the ground game offense with a suffocating defense. Mission accomplished last week, while their defense letting up late provides us with a hint of value this week. If you watched closely last week, yes, Tom Brady was losing a speck of confidence. Teams have taken away the middle and short stuff, and the Jets can match-up with the Pats offense as well as anyone.

From Bryan Leonard:

Washington Redskins at Miami Dolphins — UNDER 37 1/2
The Redskins have gone under this posted total five of the last six games, with point totals of 30, 23, 33, 27 and 34, all against teams with a better or equal offense to the Dolphins. Defensively, only one opponent all season has put up more than 23 against this Skins stop unit. Miami has scored 17 points or less in six of their eight games this season. Overall, six of the eight games played have produced less than this current total. Defensively, the Dolphins have held all but one opponent to 26 points or less.

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons — UNDER 50
The Saints in division have gone under 13 of 15 games, with one of those contests going over in overtime. This game will go a long way in determining the divisional champ, so we expect a conservative game plan. The Falcons defense hasn’t permitted more than 28 points in six games, the last three opponents reach 7, 16 and 17 points. That includes the likes of the Lions and Panthers.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears — UNDER 45
These two division rivals have only produced 37, 44 and 33 points in the last three meetings. Detroit’s 45-point outburst last week shades this line a bit higher. The weather is expected to be in the low 50’s with 20 mph winds and possible rain. The Bears have held four straight opponents to 24 points or less. It’s a hugely important game for both clubs, which leads to conservative game plan.
