MediaDay

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” decided to send the Famous Rejects Du Jour from “American Idol” to cover media day for a segment on the show. That’s one of the show’s writers on the left, Will Burke. He spent the last few days with them … now he’s starting to look like Nicholson during the last 75 minutes of “The Shining.” No, seriously.

Thought about begging Brian Urlacher to campaign for the “Madden 2008” cover (because I’m terrified they might ask Tom Brady and even more terrified that he might accept) and decided against it. As it turned out, I didn’t ask a single question during these riveting sessions in which players really open up. And I couldn’t be prouder.

MediaDay

One of my favorite media day tricks: The player who’s not getting interviewed and pretends to be on his cell phone.
