‘Mockingjay — Part 1’ Trailer: This Means Expensive-Looking Dystopian War

The commercial for the commercial for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1’ has arrived. Also: Conan sings the monorail song, the Batmobile is safe, and more.

The first two Hunger Games movies grossed about $1.5 billion at the international box office. Soon — very soon, like THIS NOVEMBER — the first installment of the series’ two-part Mockingjay finale will add another $800 million or so to that total. It will do so with fire arrows and exploding aircraft and menacing Donald Sutherland EvilFaceTime chats and an inevitably disappointing mid-story cliffhanger. Still, we will line up and throw our money at anybody in a fancy bird brooch. Enjoy the trailer; they seemed to have spent a nice chunk of that $1.5 bil on this one.
