Let’s Imagine Ke$ha’s Pitch for Her Directorial Debut, ‘Dirty Love’

(Actual) Ke$ha, speaking to Rolling Stone, October 24, 2013:
“What’s been put out as singles have just perpetuated a particular image that may or may not be entirely accurate. I’d like to show the world other sides of my personality. I don’t want to just continue putting out the same song and becoming a parody myself.”

(Imaginary) Ke$ha, texting RCA Records, October 31, 2013:
“Gonna start directing my own stuff, guys. DWI. Turning 27 soon and kinda over hiring dudes to make up dances for my shit when I’ve been doing it at home a million years longer. Not into it. Also want a more serious spot in the glitter-explosion art history canon. (And I’ll sweep up afterwards, chill.)

“So yeah, got this karaoke joint that’ll give us a good rate if we go in the middle of the night in a couple of weeks. Gonna bring in these guys, Buzz and Chad — you’d love them, so hilarious — and they’ll dress like me but w/ less on. Gonna dump champagne around and mess w/ whipped cream + bubbles — those guys are seriously so fun, this video can ONLY be classic w/ them in it. Already cut out this rad stencil that says DIRTY LOVE in these kinda like dirtbike-y letters. Also dug up a bunch of white T-shirts I’m gonna shred, and I got all these old band stickers I’m gonna slap on the wall, all CBGB.

“Also fuck those vocals Iggy Pop did. Gonna mute him and just go w/ me.

“Thx,

K$a.”
