So this is pretty mind blowing. Above is an Adidas commerical, brought to our attention by Men In Blazers‘ own Roger Bennett. Like a football version of The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, it features the German national team, including the likes of Lukas Podolski, Thomas Muller, Philip Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger. The spot tracks an unnamed player from a goal celebration, back through training, through his childhood. Mesmerizing stuff.

Not for nothing, but are the best sports commercials over the last few years actually soccer commercials? The Nike “Take It To The Next Level” ad?  The FIFA ’10 “How Big Can Football Get?” campaign? Maybe it’s time for Lil’ Penny to make a comeback. Step your game up, basketball!
